Singers with a special musical gift are encouraged to audition to
serve as Cantors in the Parish. The Cantor provides a
wonderful service to God, and is a serious commitment. To
audition you must be prepared to sing selected music that is
typically sung at Mass, including a psalm responsorial and two
hymns taken from the Gather hymanl. A reasonably good level
of vocal ability, personal confidence, and some special training
is needed to fulfill the requirement for the role of Cantor. Fred
Wackenhut, Director of Liturgical Music, will work with
anyone who has an interest in needing help preparing for an
audition or has any questions.
